Position Summary
The University of Oregon’s Institute of Marine Biology invites applications for a full-time Office Specialist 2. The purpose of this position is to assist the Operations Manager in managing office and business functions and to support the educational and research mission of OIMB.

Reception duties include acting as the first point of contact to customers who call, email or come into the office, coordinate the use of facilities, schedule guest researchers, classes and civic groups, including teaching labs, housing, cafeteria and boats.

The Office Specialist 2 will complete contracts for specific groups, process travel reimbursements, accounts payable/receivable, maintain petty cash, assist in preparing teaching materials, brochures, special reports, perform UO database system queries as needed, explain rules, processes and procedures to students, staff, faculty and the public. General office functions will include order and inventory office and teaching supplies, maintain office files, process incoming and outgoing mail and provide coverage for the operations manager as needed.
